On March 11, the Admirals’ Reception was held at the Victory Museum, marking the 330th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Navy and the 25th anniversary of the canonization of the distinguished naval commander Fyodor Ushakov. The event brought together representatives of the Navy, government authorities, public organizations, and the business community, serving as an important platform for preserving historical memory and strengthening unity around key national values.
The official program began with a wreath-laying ceremony in the Hall of Memory and Sorrow, where participants observed a minute of silence in honor of fallen defenders of the Fatherland. During the formal part of the event, welcoming remarks were delivered, including a message on behalf of Sergei Shoigu:
“More than three centuries ago, by the will of Peter the Great, Russia gained a navy that forever changed the geopolitical landscape of the world. The Russian Navy is not only the power of steel ships and modern weapons. Above all, it is about people—their character and their faith. Fyodor Ushakov was a महान naval commander who never suffered defeat and who laid the foundations of our naval tradition. His tactical genius, care for his sailors, and unwavering devotion to the Motherland remain an example for many generations,” the address emphasized.
The Admirals’ Reception was traditionally organized by the Ushakovtsy initiative group under the leadership of Dmitry Shlopak. Active participation in the preparation and holding of the event was taken by the Club of Admirals and Generals of the Navy, as well as the Union of Navy Veterans headed by Admiral Vladimir Valuev.
Particular attention was given to the social agenda of the event: it was announced that five apartments would be provided to servicemen participating in the special military operation, representing a tangible contribution to supporting defenders of the country and their families. The highlight of the evening was the awarding of state, ведомственные, and public honors to entrepreneurs and public figures for their contribution to societal development, support for the armed forces, and the implementation of socially significant initiatives.
The International Alliance of Strategic Projects BRICS, represented by Larisa N. Zelentsova, a member of the Club of Admirals of the Russian Federation, took part in the Admirals’ Reception, reaffirming its active involvement in advancing socially significant initiatives aimed at strengthening patriotic values, developing international humanitarian cooperation, and promoting public diplomacy.
