The first Indian International Hapkido Championship was held in New Delhi

On February 2, 2026, the 1st Open International Hapkido Championship of India, organized by the Hapkido Federation of India, was held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. The tournament brought together athletes from various regions of India and abroad and marked an important step in the development of hapkido on the international stage.

Athletes from Nepal, Mumbai, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Delhi participated in the competition, demonstrating a high level of training, technical skill, and sportsmanship. Jitendra Kushwaha, founder of the Sansar Jan Kalyan Ek Kiran Foundation and social activist, served as the guest of honor at the championship. In his speech, he emphasized the special importance of disciplines based on the principles of self-defense, self-control, and personal responsibility:

"In our time, it is extremely important to develop sports focused on self-defense and discipline. The efforts of the Hapkido Federation of India are commendable and inspiring."

Prominent public and political figures also expressed their support for the participants: Bihari Welfare Society (BWS) National President Sanjay Bhai, senior BJP leader Sanjay Singh, Dr. Bibhu Anand, and Vikas Arora. Special congratulations were extended to the founder and president of the Hapkido Federation of India, Master Jitendra Singh. It was under his leadership that the championship was held at a high professional level and laid a solid foundation for the further international development of hapkido in India.
