The International Youth Media Forum "Russia-Africa"

The International Youth Media Forum "Russia-Africa: Through the Prism of Education and Communications," supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, took place in Moscow from July 23 to 26, 2023, at the Russian University of Friendship of Peoples named after Patrice Lumumba.

More than 150 media researchers and young journalists from over 50 countries participated in the forum's events, held in a blended format. The forum's main goal was to create a platform for expert discussions to identify effective forms of interaction and deepen positive information exchange, promoting objective information between Russia and African countries in the fields of education and mass communications.

During the forum, young scholars had the opportunity to share the results of their research and receive feedback from representatives of government structures, international media, educational and public organizations, as well as the international university community.

The forum's program consisted of various sections. On the first day, discussions revolved around the information space of Russia and Africa, entrenched ethnic stereotypes and methods to overcome them, as well as journalism education and youth interaction in Russia and African countries. Priority issues of modernity, challenges, and problems in journalism in light of sustainable development goals were also discussed, generating significant interest among both expert and young academic communities.
